Memorial has a parish nurse as part of our staff to help members and friends cope with the spiritual dimensions of what happens to their bodies. The parish nurse also helps us tend to better ways to care for our bodies. She works with the Health Ministries Committee in determining the best ways to serve our congregation. Here is the way Mary Ircink describes her role: The parish nurse, in collaboration with the pastoral staff and congregants, participates in the ongoing transformation of the faith community into sources of health and healing. Health is growth towards well-being of the body, mind and spirit. A Parish Nurse is... - Integrator of Faith and Health
- Health Educator
- Health Counselor
- Referral resource
- Facilitator
- Advocate for the members of the church community
Here is the 2009 annual report of the parish nurse.
